| July 27, 2008 |
Allison Backus was in the studio this week tracking some vocals for several songs. We had a lot of fun with Allison and her sister Ashley and their friend
Courtney while we recorded the tracks. Allison has been very busy performing at the Springfield Muni, so we were honored to have her take some
time to come and record with us. |
This weekend we traveled to Mayberry Music in Jonesboro, IL
to pick up our new Les Paul Standard Gold Top. The folks at Mayberry were a joy to work with, and they cut us a great deal on this
brand new guitar. They had just received it directly from the Gibson factory this week. This beauty plays like a dream, sounds incredible,
and is a timeless addition to our guitar collection, all of which we use on the many projects we are working on.
While in southern IL we took some time to hook up with Jon Wheaton to continue planning on his new album. We also brought Jon's
incredible Orange Amplifier back with us to prepare for guitar tracking next week. Jon's album will truly rock when we begin layering
rich sounds from Marshall, Mesa Boogie and Orange, all driven with some incredible custom and classic guitars. We can't wait to start tracking!

We got right back to work this weekend on the new album from The Jon Wheaton Band. Braden Blakley did a phenomenal
job on the bass, locking in some killer riffs to go along with Greg Morrow's drum tracks. The first two songs of the album are starting
to come to life. We'll be working on acoustic and electric guitars in the next few weeks.
Jon has been busy writing many more songs for the album. We have a lot to choose from, and will be tracking some demos to help us
decide which songs will end up on the album. |

We hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day holiday. The staff at Blue Stream Records enjoyed getting out of the studio and into some
fresh summer air. We are now recharged and ready to get back to business for the second half of 2008!
We've been pretty busy scouting new talent, and are in early discussions with several acts. Between recording and label business, we'll have
plenty to keep us occupied.

We'll be continuing work on the new album from The Jon Wheaton Band this week. Bassist phenom Braden Blakley will be in
the studio to lay down some tracks. Jon will be back in town in a few weeks to track vocals and continue pre-production sessions on his
many new songs.
|
Congratulations to E.L. Kurtz, who was recently selected to sing the National Anthem for the Chicago White Sox July 4th game.
Unfortunately, E.L. fell ill just prior to the event and could not attend. We wish him well as he gets better, and are looking forward to
the next opportunity for so many people to hear E.L.'s authentic and passionate talent!

We got the drum tracks back from the great Greg Morrow last night. HOLY COW does that man know how to rock or what?!?
Of course, Greg is a veteran drummer and legend in the music industry, having played on literally hundreds, if not thousands, of
albums, and touring with folks like Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood, DeGarmo and Key, etc. We are so honored to have his contributions on the new album
from The Jon Wheaton Band. We'll be tracking bass and guitars in the coming weeks to prepare for Jon stopping by the studio to
lay down his lead vocals. This album is going to be amazing!

We just got back from the Indie Buzz Bootcamp
in St. Louis, MO. We had an amazing time meeting many industry insiders and artists and learning some cool techniques for
marketing and promotion.
Thanks to Tom Jackson (artist development with Taylor Swift), Derek Sivers of CDBaby, Ariel Hyatt of CyberPR and of
course Bob Baker of TheBuzzFacter.com and many others for sharing their experience and insight with the attendees.
We enjoyed talking with each of them and were thrilled to be chosen to
receive a discount on our next class from Berklee Music in Boston.

We will be getting the first drum tracks for the new album from The Jon Wheaton Band from Nashville drummer
Greg Morrow in the next few days.
We are receiving a lot of response from some great musicians wanting to audition for the band. If you are a Christian musician
who knows how to rock with a positive attitude, send us your demo!

The P.J. Summers Band will be performing at the annual Cornerstone Festival
next week. The band is scheduled for four different sets throughout the festival. With names like The David Crowder Band, Flyleaf, and
Skillet on the bill, among hundreds of others, this will be a huge event!

Nite Special is a busy
country rock band from Central IL who put on an entertaining and energetic show. They are currently recording a 10 song
demo featuring covers and original tunes from their vast set list.
Whiskey Decision is currently recording their debut CD, full of powerful rockin' tunes with heavy beats and tight grooves. The album is expected
to be complete in a few months.
