We're having a great summer at Blue Stream Records!
We recently did a recording of local jazz band A Moment's Notice on
location at a dinner club. Comprised of five very talented high school and college players, the group impressed the dinner patrons with their
great rendition of classic jazz numbers. This session gave us the perfect opportunity to try out our ultralight recording rig, which performed flawlessly
and made some awesome recordings.
Brandy Kristin
was in the studio this weekend continuing work on her debut album. We had a studio full of session players putting together some great tracks
for preproduction planning. This album continues to evolve, and today provided another indication of just how special this album will be when
it is finished. It's been a long time coming, but the results will be well worth the wait!
In the meantime, you can catch Brandy and her band The Rave as they perform around central Illinois.
We had the pleasure of trying out our new Kasha RockMod50 Amp
in our session today. This custom built amplifier from Kasha Amplifiers in Southern California is one sweet monster! The tones were perfect for
what we were doing, and gave us plenty of varieties to choose from when dialing in different settings. Today's session was primarily rehearsal, so
we are excited to hear this amp on our recorded tracks!
Taylor June has been busy writing and performing her songs around the area.
After placing fourth in the Illinois State Fair Conference talent show earlier this year, Taylor was invited to perform at the Illinois State Fair talent show and
placed third. She received a lot of attention for her incredible voice and songs. Taylor will be doing some more recording with Blue Stream Records, and we'll be
helping her put together a promotional video being requested by some national talent scouts.
Brandy Kristin is working on her debut album on
Blue Stream Records. Brandy blends her powerful, sultry voice with her very personal lyrics to
create music that reaches deep inside.
